The Health District recently received the following notice from the Washington State Department of Health.

Hand washing signs can be obtained from the Health District without cost. There is NO requirement to buy the signs offered by this company.

Hand Washing Marketing Ploy

As we have seen in past years, a company calling itself Washington Food Service Compliance Center is sending out the attached letter to food service establishments in WA (and under different names to establishments in other states). While it has modified the letter from previous years to ensure there are no untrue statements, the wording and tone of the letter make it sound like it is coming from government entities and that buying it's expensive hand washing signs will somehow improve food code compliance.
